Maayong buntag sa tanan!
MISC: I’m not quite sure what gives my companions the impression that I can cut hair but ALL my companions have asked to do so! Haha. There have been too many horror stories of missionaries getting their hair cut here so if I’m going to be cutting my own/others the rest of my mission-I might as well do a good job! (So if someone could kindly send me some basic instructions, that would be great! Salamat kaayo!)
FUNNY: I’m still doing pranks all the time. My poor companions…
INSPIRATIONAL: “It isn’t enough to put your best foot forward, you have to follow through with your other foot too” -Jacob M. Brude
SPIRITUAL: I’ve realized a couple important things this week regarding receiving revelation and the guidance of the spirit. So many times in our lives we ask for guidance and direction. But this week, I’ve realized that sometimes we lack courage to act upon the revelations we receive. In my mission, I have received guidance and followed through with it and felt great. There have also been times I know I have received guidance, ignored it, and felt terrible. Sometimes when we receive revelation, it does not come in the form we expect and therefore, choose to not act upon it. As Elder Larry R. Lawrence states in his General Conference address “What Lack I Yet,” in regards to the rich young man, he states, “He was humble enough to ask the Lord but not faithful enough to follow the divine counsel he was given. We must be willing to act when we receive an answer.” I know that as we ask for the divine guidance in our lives that is always available to us, we can also ask for the courage to act upon that which we receive. As we do so and are faithful, we will recognize how actively involved our Father in Heaven, the Savior and the Spirit are in our daily lives.
PICS: My companion and I with some of our investigators (one is a little rough on the edges but SO ready for the gospel. The older couple that we are working with, we teach in a space that we are literally touching knee to knee). Kids eating chicken feet on a stick, pics of my area, me washing my clothes by hand super early in the morning.
Love you all! Its getting to that midway point where I’ve been out a long time but still have some time to go but just know I really appreciate your continual support-emails, letters and all your love 🙂
