Merry Christmas everyone!
MISC- 1. This area is going to be my refiner’s fire. The people are so gahi (hard) and don’t want to hear the gospel. Apan, padayon lang ko kay kabalo ko nga kaya nako. Naa’y reason para sa tanan. (But, I’ll just continue cause I know I can do it and there is a reason for everything). 2. I went from a really poor area of the PHI to a decently wealthy area. The transition has been kind of difficult for me.
FUNNY- Met a black guy from San Diego the other day who now lives here. I honestly think he’s a former NFL player. He has a massive house and his nickname is Sugar.
LANGUAGE- Everyone in my new area (LABANGON) speaks English! Ahh! Most of them all work in call centers so they speak fluent English. I don’t like it haha. The bishop of the ward doesn’t speak Cebuano-Tagalog and English only. My English is so terrible right now, I’ve gotten to the point where I’d rather not speak English at least here on the mission.
COMPANION- S. Adams is so great. She’s so sarcastic and funny! Everyone calls her Sister Adan (which is Adam in Cebuano) and me Sister Moises (which is Moses) so we have to explain to people that we are not prophets.
INSPIRATIONAL- “Today’s trial is tomorrow’s testimony”
SPIRITUAL- I just want to share my testimony with you this Christmas season. I want you to know I love my Savior. I have made many great friends here on the mission but the greatest of them all has been my Savior. This knowledge has given me power to witness miracles in my life and in the lives of those around me. Without a shadow of doubt, I know He lives. I know He was born, that He died and three days later, He rose again. This knowledge alone can change lives. As you seek a personal and intimate relationship with your Savior this Christmas season, please don’t be afraid to share this knowledge with others. What you seek for is what many others also seek even if they don’t know it.
I love you all. I know the Savior loves you and I bear witness that He lives. Don’t forget to remember Him! 🙂 #HeIsTheGift
With all my love,
