It’s almost Christmas!
Hello my favorite people in the world wherever you may be,
MISC: 1. We have our Christmas conference with our mission and mission president down in Dumaguete last this week which is eight hours away since we’re in the farthest area in the mission. I’m really excited for it, it should be fun! 2. We’ve been having a lot of black outs recently because people are stealing our electricity for their Christmas lights.
FUNNY: It’s funny how white I am. #SoulsAreMoreThanMyTan
LANGUAGE: Excited gayud ko nga maistoria uban sa pamilya nako sunod niining Pasko! (I’m excited I get to talk to my family soon for Christmas!)
INSPIRATIONAL: “Sometimes we focus on others’ faults when we should instead be working to improve ourselves.” True to the Faith
SPIRITUAL: As the time for the Savior’s birth draqs close, it is my hope that we all will draw nearer to Him and experience the joy that can be ours this season through small daily ponderings that help us learn of Him. My mission president’s wife printed out daily excerpts from a book written by Emily Freeman entitled 21 Days Closer to Christ, which I want to share with you:
“NEVER STOPPING, EVER SEARCHING”
Read the account of Jairus in Mathhew 9:18-26. Think back on a time in your life when you had to search for the Savior to find strength beyond your own. Try to remember the process you went through in that search. Was it scripture study, more meaningful prayers or another avenue that led you to Christ? Apply one of those principles to your life today.
POW: YAY! We had some baptisms this past week! I love seeing the spirit touch peoples’ hearts when they are new to the gospel and the joy it brings. They try to describe it but they can’t, and so they get a little emotional as they realize that what they feel, or felt, is an assurance that Heavenly Father is there. It in turn becomes an assurance to me, that He is there, close by and that he loves us. My invitation for you this week is to think of all the ways the gospel has blessed your life.
