Hello sa tanan,
MISC: 1. My body is covered in bites from bed bugs #MissionLife. 2. The area I’m in right now is actually pretty dangerous. There are a lot of drug addicts and one of the people we teach got jumped the other night and they beat him with stones. I’m only saying this now because I’ll mostly be transferring in two weeks. 3. My companion and I had an interesting experience. We went proselyting in one of our areas that is pretty bukid, (you have to walk through deep sugar cane fields to get there). Once we got there, we felt an overwhelming presence of evil. There were no people outside and not even the sun was touching the houses even though it was mid day. We went to a house toward the back and found this lady but something was off, something was keeping us from connecting with her. My companion and I both just felt dark and felt there was a literal unseen being in the room with us and we decided we needed to leave. We ended the lesson and as we walked out, I asked my comp if we could say a prayer. As I finished the prayer, we opened our eyes and found people standing in their doorways just staring at us. It’s a longer story but we left that area. As we reached the area where the sun touched the ground again, we felt the spirit and we felt safe.
FUNNY STORY: I saw a dog trying to drink milk from a cow’s utter and it was really making the cow upset.
LANGUAGES: I’ve really enjoyed speaking Ilonggo these past few months. My next area will most likely be more Cebuano but I’m hoping to pick up more Tagalog as well!
INSPIRATIONAL: “I know some of you worry about being misjudged, ridiculed, and even harassed, if you stand up for Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the church. My dear beloved friends, don’t worry about those in the large and spacious building” (President Boyd K. Packer)
SPIRITUAL: Don’t be afraid to defend your beliefs. In the end, the Savior and your Father in Heaven will always defend you if you did the same for them.
POW: Danielo and Marlene Mahinary are getting married on Saturday and then he will be able to baptize her right after. Janet is also getting baptized on Saturday and her brother, Longboy, will be able to baptize her as well! Exciting things!
I apologize if this week’s email wasn’t as spiritual as most of my other ones. I do hope that you enjoy my letters! My purpose and hope is that you will be uplifted and edified from my experiences here on the mission. Thanks for your support!
PICS: 1. Me washing clothes by hand. 2. The sunset!
